Electric Village

Hi me again,

the other day Moana Learning Hub went to Electric Village, it was so much fun. We went there to learn about future technology. But we did some other really fun things is well. Like playing with little robots that you could control with an ipad and going on an electric scooter and lots of other fun things to.We also learnt about different types of ways to get electricity and what ways of getting electricity are worse for the environment.

Die Fennel Die! in 2019

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. I hope you all had a great summer holiday I know I did, but this post is not about my holiday it's about how we went down to the Hamanatua stream to do some gardening. Our job was to get rid of all the horrible fennel so that our native plants could grow easier. But there was so much fennel that at the start you couldn't even tell that there were any other plants. Here's some pictures of what it looked like at the start middle and end. I would say we did a pretty good job.Has your class ever gone some were to do some gardening? Culture Club

Hi, today I will be telling you about our class culture club.  Culture club is when  you pick a country with either a buddy or by yourself.  I did mine with my friend Nellie.  We decided to present ours on a                               science board.  It was really fun because we got to learn a lot of new things about India that I didn't know before.  Here's how it looked on slides before it was  printed out...                              

Big Eye Art

Hi, today as you can probably see I will be telling you about My big eye art.Yesterday on the 25 of November the year sixes went of to there new school's that they where going to go to next year/2019. So the year fives in Moana got to do art for most of the day. I learned that if you look closer than before at a picture there may be something else on it. Like how when I first looked at a picture of a big eye art I thought that it was just the big eyes and nose but when I looked closer I saw that it was a collage  background. Then after we learned how to do it,  we gave it a go ourselves. And this is how mine turned out. The animal I chose was a ring tailed lemur. What animal would you have done if you did the big eye art? Have you ever done it before? The Kapa Haka festival

Hi, me again. 

Today I will be telling you about our kapa haka festival. We had our Kapa Haka Festival                    on wednesday. The girls wear a  moko on their chin and the boys wear a moko on most of their face,then the girls have feathers put in there hear. I had lots of fun.The girl kia/leaders have golden tips on the ends of their feathers. I was in the second row.  We do the Kapa Haka festival every 2nd year.
