Last term At WBS!

Hello, its Izzy,

It has been a great term at WBS. Actually it has been a great year at WBS, this term was my last term at Wainui Beach School, it was also one of the best terms ever. IT was busy but it was really fun. So I am doing a blog post review on what has happened this term. Let's start at the very beginning of this term. From what I can remember the first big event of the term was the national Jump Jam competition.

The Jump Jam team (including me) went up to Taupo to compete in our second Jump Jam competition. Our last competition was only a regional competition but this one was a national Jump Jam competition. Sadly we did not win. We came 5th out of 7 different teams. But we did get some cool T-shirts.

The second event of term for was school athletics. The whole school did school athletics, I did all 4 events. High jump, Long jump, Sprints and Ball throw. I came 4th in the High jump 4th in 200m sprints and 2nd in Long jump, which meant that I got to go to Interschool athletics. I did not get a
placing but it was still fun being the and I liked cheering on other people and friends from my school.

The next thing that happened this term was school Kapa haka. Because I have already done a blog post on the Kapa haka festival I will just put  link in if you want to check it out Kapa haka.

The other few things that happened this term was  the Road Patrol Reward Day and school surfing. The Road Patrol Reward Day was when we got to go to the Olympic Pools as a reward for the year six's that did road patrol this year. School surfing is when we get to go surfing on Friday mornings. It's lots of fun and we get to go to different beaches in Gisborne depending of the waves.

So that's pretty much it, my last term at WBS. I have had some of the best 6 years of my life at this school, and I am really going to miss it. But I am exited to go to my new school. Thanks for reading my blog post.

Camp

This blog post is about my year 6 camp at camp kaitawa.

Kapa haka festival!

Hello it's Isabel. I am sorry that I haven't posted for a while.  But today I am going to be telling you about the kapa haka festival. On Wednesday the 26 of November 2019 my school performed at the Turanganui Kapa haka festival. And I am going to b telling you how it went.

As I nervously walked up the steps and onto the
stage.  saw hundreds of big, bold eyes looking up at me, waiting patiently for their                            next performance. The first note of the guitar had been strum and the show had begun. There was no turning back, Hunter started to sing. I could feel my heart pounding out of my chest.

We all started to sing. I saw my parents watching me from the crowd. Before I new it, it was all  over. The songs that we sang were; Tu mai ra, Haramai a paoa, Ka pioioi, Purea nei, Utaina mai,Wainui haka, Te rauparaha's haka, Wainui e and hehornore. Overall I had a great time and thought it was really fun.
