Last term At WBS!

Hello, its Izzy,

It has been a great term at WBS. Actually it has been a great year at WBS, this term was my last term at Wainui Beach School, it was also one of the best terms ever. IT was busy but it was really fun. So I am doing a blog post review on what has happened this term. Let's start at the very beginning of this term. From what I can remember the first big event of the term was the national Jump Jam competition.

The Jump Jam team (including me) went up to Taupo to compete in our second Jump Jam competition. Our last competition was only a regional competition but this one was a national Jump Jam competition. Sadly we did not win. We came 5th out of 7 different teams. But we did get some cool T-shirts.

The second event of term for was school athletics. The whole school did school athletics, I did all 4 events. High jump, Long jump, Sprints and Ball throw. I came 4th in the High jump 4th in 200m sprints and 2nd in Long jump, which meant that I got to go to Interschool athletics. I did not get a
placing but it was still fun being the and I liked cheering on other people and friends from my school.

The next thing that happened this term was school Kapa haka. Because I have already done a blog post on the Kapa haka festival I will just put  link in if you want to check it out Kapa haka.

The other few things that happened this term was  the Road Patrol Reward Day and school surfing. The Road Patrol Reward Day was when we got to go to the Olympic Pools as a reward for the year six's that did road patrol this year. School surfing is when we get to go surfing on Friday mornings. It's lots of fun and we get to go to different beaches in Gisborne depending of the waves.

So that's pretty much it, my last term at WBS. I have had some of the best 6 years of my life at this school, and I am really going to miss it. But I am exited to go to my new school. Thanks for reading my blog post.

Kapa haka festival!

Hello it's Isabel. I am sorry that I haven't posted for a while.  But today I am going to be telling you about the kapa haka festival. On Wednesday the 26 of November 2019 my school performed at the Turanganui Kapa haka festival. And I am going to b telling you how it went.

As I nervously walked up the steps and onto the
stage.  saw hundreds of big, bold eyes looking up at me, waiting patiently for their                            next performance. The first note of the guitar had been strum and the show had begun. There was no turning back, Hunter started to sing. I could feel my heart pounding out of my chest.

We all started to sing. I saw my parents watching me from the crowd. Before I new it, it was all  over. The songs that we sang were; Tu mai ra, Haramai a paoa, Ka pioioi, Purea nei, Utaina mai,Wainui haka, Te rauparaha's haka, Wainui e and hehornore. Overall I had a great time and thought it was really fun.

A Trip To Te-Poho-o-Rawiri

Hi, how are you?
On Thursday 12th to Friday 13th of September I went on a school trip with the nui syndicate of our school. We stayed the night at the Te-Poho-o-Rawiri Marae in Kaiti Gisborne. Once we got onto the ground of the Marae, we were nicely welcomed by the tangata whenua, Papa Albie, Aunty Buba and Aunty Charlotte. They brought us into the whare where we had a Powhiri and got told maori stories.

While we were their we did rotations where we played traditional maori games and walked up Kaiti hill. For dinner we had nachos, they were delicious! After dinner our parents came and watch a show that we put on for them. There was a Kapa Haka performance that all of Nui were in. And I did a jump jam performance with my jump jam team. There were other performances to, like ukulele and a comedy act done by Jack.
The next day the Wai syndicate came and we had another Powhiri to welcome them. After the Powhiri to welcome the wai syndercite they joined in our rotations. I learnt how to weave flax at one of the rotations. But after 2 or 3 hours it was time to go home. I had  great time at the Marae and learnt a lot. Overall I think it was an amazing experience.

Cross Country Competition

Hello, how are you,
Today I'm going to be telling you about my cross country that I had today (20.8.19).
We went down to the Okitu playground where the started and finished of the race was and where we all waited for our race in our houses.

In the race we had to run down from the playground and towards Pines, Gisborne, then we had to turn around and run along the dunes towards shellay. In end we would be back where we started. Because I am a house captain I had to look after my house (blue house) and start the house chants going. I think that I came about 13th in my race.
Overall I had a really great time. Thanks for reading my blog post, bye.

Then we want to find out why the different mints do or don't make the coke explode in the same way. The science fair is dew in week 5. Poppy and I named our science fair Fizzy Pop.

Do you do science fair at your school. Well that's all I have for you today,I will keep you posted on what happens with the science fair, and the rest of this this term, bye.

From somewhere within the walls of green that surrounded him, he heard footsteps approaching slowly and purposefully, and it began to dawn on Carl that he was not alone at all,...''h,hello'' trembled Carl is anybody there. There was a moment of silence, all that could be heard was thewistling sound of the wind struggling throw the small gaps in between the leaves.''I know your there, said Carl, he was trembling more and more by the second. Come out no wait don't come out,say something, no wait don't say something. No just, just stay there.Carl took a deep breath.Right before having something thrown at him nocking to the ground as he...

I hope you liked my quick write. Bye

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. I hope you all had a great summer holiday I know I did, but this post is not about my holiday it's about how we went down to the Hamanatua stream to do some gardening. Our job was to get rid of all the horrible fennel so that our native plants could grow easier. But there was so much fennel that at the start you couldn't even tell that there were any other plants. Here's some pictures of what it looked like at the start middle and end. I would say we did a pretty good job.Has your class ever gone some were to do some gardening?
