Speeches

Today my blog post is going to be about our speeches.
I'm super excited. But also really nervous. Last year I got into the finals, but did not win with my topic being, 'Flag the Bag' (ban plastic bags ). The year before that, my first year of doing speeches, I won with my topic being 'All Kids Should Have a Pet'. And I was sure that would convince my parents to get me a pet dog, but still two years later, I have no dog. And this year my speech topic is 'Fish for the Future'. I really hope that I can get into the finals again and maybe even win. First we have to do the class speeches, which are held in week 8, which means they are in one and a bit weeks. The school speech finals are in week 10 around 4 weeks away. Do you have school speeches? Please comment down below to show your answer.

Cross country Coming soon

Hello me again,
Next week our school Wainui Beach ) has cross country. I'm super excited for the avent. I look forward to it every year. But sometimes during practice I get really tired, and feel like I'm going to collapse. If it's sunny on Wednesday and Monday then we go down to the course to practice but if it's cloudy on Wednesday or Monday we go around the school block, and if it's raining we don't go practice running at all. Does your school do cross country?

Actions Stations Day

On Tuesday 31st of July we had an Actions Stations Day. Lots of different classes did lots of different things with their buddy class. Like clean out the kids PE shed, pick up rubbish, and spreading mulch all over the medicine garden. Our class (and buddy class) went down to the beach in the morning to pick up some rubbish. Then after morning tea we sorted out the rubbish that we found at the beach into  some boxes from the council. The boxes all had labels on them to tell us what to put in which boxes. Once we had sorted out the rubbish our buddies and another pair of buddies made one group of four. Then in our group we made some posters about the rubbish we found at the beach. For lunch we walked down to the Hamanatua Stream as a school. That was on of my favorite parts of the day. After we had eaten lunch we went back to the beach for a play. We walked along the beach to get back to school. On the walk back to school we picked up some more rubbish on the beach. Then we went to the school hall to share what we had done for Actions Stations Day with the other classes. Then it was the end of the day, and that was our Actions Stations Day. Overall I had a great day and felt good about doing something great.
